Oh boy, do these sessions have my heart. Moms are at the center of everything I do in my business. First, your job is a big one— and moms never get enough credit for all that they do. Second, you deserve to be in front of the camera. (Just think of how much these photos will mean to your kids one day!)

I want to document these days for you— whether you are pregnant, about to adopt, home with a brand new baby, in the throes of postpartum depression, dropping a kid at college— ALL of these stages fall under motherhood sessions and ALL of them deserve to be honored with photographs.

Cozy Anchorage Newborn Photos

I walked into this session and instantly fell in love with the cozy vibes, the sweet grandparents (and all of Grandma's impressive homemade knits!), and the quiet awe these new parents shared. I felt so lucky to be a witness to it all.

Anchorage Cozy Newborn Session

The early winter months in Anchorage hold a special kind of magic. The first snow seems to quiet the whole world and I love the draw to slow down and be cozy. In a lot of ways, it is reminiscent to those early days at home with a newborn. I really love that this session seemed to capture that sense of hygge (the art of coziness) and quiet.

In-Home Maternity Session | Madison & Denali

Being in your own space is comfortable, cozy, and also such a huge part of your life story. I know Alaska is one of the most beautiful places in the world and it's hard to not take advantage of that when doing photos— but I always encourage people to not overlook the beauty in their own spaces too.

Wild Lupine Motherhood Session

Motherhood has always been at the center of my photography philosophy; moms and their babies are my "why". I don't think moms show up in enough photos with their kids, and I feel really strongly about fixing that. (And getting to take photos of a mom and her babies in a field of wild lupine in Alaska is about as good as it gets.) I love in this session how clearly you can see the love: there are flyaway hairs tucked lovingly away, muddy pants brushed off with a maternal touch, and a refuge from the storm that only a mom can provide.
