Charlotte & Travis' Homer Wedding

It wouldn’t be the 4th of July in Alaska without traffic jams, bustling campgrounds, and hordes of people. It’s almost impossible to escape it all... almost.

One of the many remarkable things about Charlotte and Travis’ wedding is we were able to do just that, and find our own private island for an incredibly intimate and tranquil ceremony. After doing a First Look on the beach, we escaped the throngs of people in Homer and the small wedding party took two water taxis to McKean Spit in Kachemak Bay.

It's not every wedding where you get to go beach-combing after the ceremony and see whales while shuttling to and from the ceremony! This is what I love about weddings in Alaska and the couples who choose to make their wedding uniquely their own. Charlotte and Travis flew up from Wisconsin with a very clear vision, and Erin from Blomma Designs and Alaska Destination Weddings made everything come together seamlessly. It's weddings like this and people who love adventure that make my job really fun!
